EPILEPSY: A nursing perspective - FREE CEU program for nurses

Program is offered in two sessions: MORNING and AFTERNOON
MORNING PROGRAM
7am - 8am: Registration and breakfast
8am - 11am: Lecture
EVENING PROGRAM
5pm - 6pm: Registration and dinner
6pm - 9pm: Lecture
A light breakfast and dinner will be served.
Dr. Olgica Laban-Grant, epileptologist at the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group will discuss following topics:
- Seizure terminology and classification
- Causes of seizures
- Epileptic syndromes
- Status epilepticus
- Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures
- Differential diagnosis of seizures
- Current treatment options
- Seizure first aid
- Epilepsy in women
- Epilepsy in the elderly
- Seizure action plans, seizure precautions, and social aspects of epilepsy
Special Topic:
Dr Stefanie Berry, M.D., pediatric epileptologist at the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group will discuss:
- Epilepsy in children
