November is Epilepsy awareness month

November is Epilepsy awareness month

Epilepsy affects 1 out of every hundred people. This translates into approximately 2 million persons in the United States.  Epilepsy is characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures and although epilepsy can occur at any age, it is more likely to begin among children aged <2 years and adults aged ≥65 years.

Epilepsy Awareness month gives us 30 days to talk about epilepsy and teach others.  There is still so much misinformation that every bit of education that we share with the public is valuable.  So, let's get out there and raise awareness everywhere we can!
